FAQ’s

How will the morning run?

Every hairstylist or makeup artist will run slightly differently but personally I allow an hour per person for either a hairstyling or a makeup service.

I arrive fifteen minutes before I need the first lovely lady in my chair to set up and always schedule everyone to be finished an hour prior to the photographer arriving, this allows time for any tweaks or touch ups if required. Even if your photographer is taking ’getting ready’ shots these are always finishing touches. Trust me there is nothing worse than being rushed more time is always best!

When should I have my trial?

I recommend having a trial at least twelve weeks out from your date once your dress has been chosen. I will send a prep sheet prior to your appointment but have your Pinterest board at the ready!

If for whatever reason I’m not the right artist for you following your trial, if it is twelve weeks from your wedding I will refund your deposit so the only cost to you would be the trial.

I like to book you during my off peak which is late April through to September. If you are booking other trials on the same day please allow buffer time between your appointments. If you have a particular date in mind for your trial ( your hens for example) I will do my very best to accommodate it however this is a little diffIcult during peak wedding season.
Whats the cost?

You can find all my pricing on the services page, however I get a few questions regarding the additional time charge. So the Special Event Styling cost covers all your basic styling on normal hair.

Now if you or any of your bridal party have copious amounts of hair either super long or super thick or are having hair extensions added and styled then this takes more time hence the charge.

This could also be applied for a vintage wave or a style that is more time consuming. To give you an accurate quote for your day I get you to send through recent photos of your girls as well as the style inspiration you have. I find children’s hair can be so varied that I also do this for flower girls and junior bridesmaids.

How do I book?

To secure your date in my calendar and confirm your booking I just take a 150.00. Once I receive your deposit I will send you through a booking confirmation.

I often get requests to book a trial prior to paying a deposit, which I completely understand & can definitely do, however if you schedule a trial without paying a deposit I cannot guarantee your date.

Prior to paying your deposit I provide you with my booking terms which state that if you have your trial and decide I am not the stylist for you then your deposit is fully refundable as long as you cancel your booking twelve weeks from the day.

Will I need extensions?

If your hair doesn’t hold a curl and you have chosen a style that is down then the short answer is yes.

Extensions act like a support so in hair that doesn’t hold they are a must. They are also a must for most vintage waves as the more hair you have the more defined the ridges become, the same goes if you want a big voluminous pony, the more hair the better!

I’ll have extensions at the trial so you can see the difference between having them and not, but I can almost guarantee the inspiration images you have chosen all have extensions used, just like most of my brides!
